This thing...

I started working on this thing like... 2 and a half years ago? And that's just the painting part. I drew it a couple years before that. I figured, I'll paint on top of something already drawn. How long could it take? Well, a long time, apparently. I'm so sick of this thing not being done that I finished it tonight.

It seems realistic to me that trying to cut off your own skin, you could only do it in bits and chunks. Like trying to peel a difficult orange. Utterly grisly. I love it.

Just imagine what it would be like to be having a normal night and then you walk in on a loved one doing this to themselves. That would be so terribly horrifying. What a way to taint someone's mind.

You did a wonderful job with the texture of the muscle under the man's skin. What an eye for detail! And the blood/ skin that's dripping off of those surfaces really help add dramatic-ness to the illustration. Amazing job with the facial features and expressions for both of the characters as well. It really helps show the viewers the emotions that are going on.
